Hello all! My name is Kathy Cripps, and I am the Dental Implant Director for a 10 doctor, 7 location practice. I started with our practice over 15 years ago at the front desk with no experience in oral surgery or the dental field. Pretty scary stuff!
I was lucky enough to attend a course about implant treatment coordinating, and it sparked something in me making me realize that our patients need this position. Everyone needs to make an informed decision about their oral health, but this position is special. It gives the patient an opportunity to feel that they have someone that they can trust and guide them through this important and confusing process.
Over the years I have continued to try to find courses that relate to my position and the PTCA has done this and more. It is a wonderful networking organization where you can connect with other like-minded individuals who you can relate with and learn from. I attend all of their annual meetings, and I bring back so much useful information that I can immediately implement into my practice, which allows us to continue to grow internally and externally with our referral base and of course provide optimal patient care.
I encourage you to attend the annual meeting coming up in Nashville, August 24-25, 2018. You will not be sorry. When I started with my practice, it was just another job, but now with the support of the PTCA, I can tell you I have a career that I love!
